BUILT: August 10, 2026

Sound Profile ?

Medium-high output with strong body, substantial midrange presence and a smooth, powerful response that feels full without becoming overly aggressive.
Bass 7.5
Mids 7
Treble 5.5
Pickup Character

PAJATSO delivers a bold, warm and unusually broad humbucker character with a smooth upper register, strong body and distinctive harmonic response. Its asymmetric coils and experimental winding geometry create a wide, fluid tonal character with plenty of personality, while the AlNiCo 5 magnetic system keeps the response articulate and dynamically expressive.

Strong Character
Magnet density (mT) describes the magnetic field strength at each pole and how the pickup interacts with the strings.

Different magnet types have different ranges (e.g. Alnico ~30–65 mT, Ceramic ~60–90+ mT), and some variation is normal — even within the same pickup.

Typical pole-to-pole variation is ~5–15 mT.

Spread describes this:
Lower spread → more even response
Higher spread → more character and dynamics

Slugs → smoother field
Screws → more focused response

PAJATSO is an Experimental Workshop Finds humbucker created to explore how asymmetric coil construction and unconventional winding geometry can shape the electrical and tonal response of a humbucker. The South coil contains 6500 turns of 43 AWG solderable polyurethane wire, while the North coil contains 5500 turns of the same wire. Connected in series, the coils produce 12.48 kΩ DC resistance and 4.22 H inductance. The intentional 1000-turn difference between the coils gives PAJATSO an asymmetric electrical character, while the experimental winding process adds another unique element to the construction. Both coils use AlNiCo 5 bar magnets, with gold screws on one side and gold slugs on the other. The measured magnetic field values across the individual pole positions provide PAJATSO with its own distinctive magnetic geometry. The Picoscope measurements reveal an unusually broad resonance, with the series pickup reaching approximately 3.8 kHz at no load and maintaining a remarkably wide response under 250k and 500k loading. Its exceptionally broad resonance and low measured Q create a smooth, expansive electrical response unlike a conventional sharply peaked humbucker. With its black matte bobbins, brass baseplate and gold open frame, PAJATSO combines experimental engineering with a deliberately luxurious visual identity. It is a one-off exploration of what happens when familiar humbucker ingredients are arranged in an unconventional way. Every note hits a jackpot.
