Strong Character
Magnet density (mT) describes the magnetic field strength at each pole and how the pickup interacts with the strings.
Different magnet types have different ranges (e.g. Alnico ~30–65 mT, Ceramic ~60–90+ mT), and some variation is normal — even within the same pickup.
Typical pole-to-pole variation is ~5–15 mT.
Spread describes this:
Lower spread → more even response
Higher spread → more character and dynamics
Slugs → smoother field
Screws → more focused response

Wax Potting
Light potting — balanced tone with reduced microphonic noise
The Vintage 50's Bridge is a classic-voiced single coil built around a 7,900-turn 42 AWG Heavy Formvar winding, producing a balanced 6.07 kΩ DC resistance and 2.47 H inductance. Its measured resonance around 3.9–4.0 kHz gives the pickup a clear upper register, crisp attack and strong string definition while retaining a naturally open and responsive character.
The six Alnico 3 flat poles provide a lively magnetic response, with measured pole densities ranging from 48 to 55 mT. This moderate variation contributes to a naturally dynamic string-to-string response and expressive playing feel.
Resonance remains remarkably consistent across different loading conditions, measuring 3.96 kHz unloaded, 3.99 kHz with 250k loading and 3.87 kHz with 500k loading. The corresponding Q values of 3.9, 2.1 and 2.4 demonstrate a clearly defined but musical resonant peak.
Light potting preserves the pickup's touch sensitivity and lively response, making it a versatile vintage bridge pickup with excellent articulation, harmonic detail and classic character.
