Magnet density (mT) describes the magnetic field strength at each pole and how the pickup interacts with the strings.

Different magnet types have different ranges (e.g. Alnico ~30–65 mT, Ceramic ~60–90+ mT), and some variation is normal — even within the same pickup.

Typical pole-to-pole variation is ~5–15 mT.

Spread describes this:
Lower spread → more even response
Higher spread → more character and dynamics

Slugs → smoother field
Screws → more focused response

VELVET BRIDGE is a carefully balanced, symmetrical humbucker built around two 6000-turn coils wound with 42 AWG Heavy Formvar wire. Each coil contributes evenly to the pickup's character, creating a coherent and highly responsive series voice with a measured 8.78 kΩ DC resistance and 3.7 H inductance. The Alnico 4 bar magnet provides an even magnetic foundation with measured field strengths around 31–35 mT across the pole area. This moderate and consistent magnetic field supports clear string definition, expressive dynamics and a naturally balanced frequency response. With approximately 154 pF of internal capacitance and a measured no-load resonance of 3.26 kHz, the series pickup delivers a full lower register, focused mids and articulate, singing highs. The matched coils work together as a unified magnetic and electrical system, giving VELVET BRIDGE a smooth, powerful and harmonically rich voice that responds beautifully to picking dynamics. The result is a versatile medium-output bridge humbucker with refined vintage character, excellent articulation and plenty of musical expression.
