Strong Character
Magnet density (mT) describes the magnetic field strength at each pole and how the pickup interacts with the strings.
Different magnet types have different ranges (e.g. Alnico ~30–65 mT, Ceramic ~60–90+ mT), and some variation is normal — even within the same pickup.
Typical pole-to-pole variation is ~5–15 mT.
Spread describes this:
Lower spread → more even response
Higher spread → more character and dynamics
Slugs → smoother field
Screws → more focused response

This single coil represents an exceptionally balanced and well-tuned design, where the electrical characteristics support a bright yet full-bodied tonal response. The 6.32 kΩ DC resistance and 2.47 H inductance place it firmly in the classic vintage-hot range, while the notably high Q factor (4.5 no-load) indicates an especially strong resonant peak and highly efficient energy transfer.
The resonant frequency around 3.7–3.8 kHz keeps the top end open and articulate without sacrificing low-end focus. In practice, this translates into extremely clear pick attack, fast transient response and harmonically rich sustain. The pickup reacts sensitively to playing dynamics and reproduces subtle performance nuances with impressive accuracy.
The staggered Alnico magnet structure and strong magnetic field values (up to 100 mT) provide excellent string separation and classic “bell-like” chime. At the same time, the midrange remains vocal and warm, making the pickup highly versatile across different playing styles and musical environments. The magnetic field distribution also appears very natural for a staggered design: the slightly softer response of the middle strings combines beautifully with the strong articulation of the E strings in a highly musical way.
The 235 pF internal capacitance suggests a very realistic and healthy coil structure. Resonance behavior remains consistent under both 250k and 500k loads, indicating stable winding geometry and well-controlled distributed capacitance. The potting also appears highly successful: resonance remains controlled while still sounding lively, open and breathing.
Overall, this pickup feels like a very high-quality vintage-style single coil combining openness, dynamic sensitivity, rich harmonic content and inspiring playability. It delivers an exceptionally musical response that feels immediate and alive across the entire fretboard.
