Magnet density (mT) describes the magnetic field strength at each pole and how the pickup interacts with the strings.
Different magnet types have different ranges (e.g. Alnico ~30–65 mT, Ceramic ~60–90+ mT), and some variation is normal — even within the same pickup.
Typical pole-to-pole variation is ~5–15 mT.
Spread describes this:
Lower spread → more even response
Higher spread → more character and dynamics
Slugs → smoother field
Screws → more focused response

This humbucker is built around two exceptionally balanced 43 AWG coils with very closely matched DC resistance values (7.62k / 7.74k) and inductance characteristics. The result is an extremely cohesive magnetic and electrical behavior that translates into a wide, almost three-dimensional soundstage, smooth sustain, and outstanding note definition.
The south coil delivers a slightly more open and airy response. Its resonant peak sits higher with a broader bandwidth, adding sparkle, fast attack, and lively upper mids. It reacts very sensitively to picking dynamics and produces a bright yet full-bodied articulation with a subtle single-coil-like openness.
The north coil sounds slightly tighter and more focused. Its higher internal capacitance and narrower resonant profile reinforce the midrange, giving the tone a stronger core and a more aggressive bite. This creates an exceptionally punchy rhythm response and a smooth, vocal-like lead character.
In series mode, the coils complement each other beautifully. The resonant peak settles around the 2.2–2.4 kHz range, placing the pickup directly in the sweet spot of a modern high-output humbucker: the low end remains controlled and tight, the mids stay broad and powerful, and the highs retain excellent presence and articulation. The controlled Q values keep the top end smooth, musical, and highly mix-friendly.
The AlNiCo 5 bar magnets generate a strong yet dynamic magnetic field. Flux density remains impressively balanced across the entire screw row, resulting in very even string response, excellent sustain, and precise transient tracking. The magnetic structure gives the pickup a firm low end and sharp attack while still preserving an organic compression feel and highly musical touch sensitivity.
The full potting stabilizes the design effectively and allows the pickup to handle high gain effortlessly while maintaining an open harmonic structure. It performs equally well with modern high-gain tones and articulate clean or crunch settings where its harmonic richness and clarity truly stand out.
Overall, this is a highly refined humbucker that blends modern precision, boutique-level harmonic depth, and powerful yet controlled energy. It delivers an inspiring playing feel, wide dynamic range, and a strong sonic identity across a broad range of musical styles.
