Moderate Character
Magnet density (mT) describes the magnetic field strength at each pole and how the pickup interacts with the strings.
Different magnet types have different ranges (e.g. Alnico ~30–65 mT, Ceramic ~60–90+ mT), and some variation is normal — even within the same pickup.
Typical pole-to-pole variation is ~5–15 mT.
Spread describes this:
Lower spread → more even response
Higher spread → more character and dynamics
Slugs → smoother field
Screws → more focused response

NEXUS is built using the experimental Dual Wire Series Coil (DWSC) concept. The coil begins with 4,250 turns of 44 AWG and 4,250 turns of 43 AWG wound simultaneously before the two conductors are connected in series. Unlike a conventional pickup, the electrical current travels through the first winding before returning toward the inner layers of the coil through the second winding, creating an unconventional electrical path that is believed to alter the interaction between the windings and the overall electromagnetic field. To further develop this unique field geometry, an additional 2,250 turns of 44 AWG wire were wound over the completed DWSC structure. The result is a pickup with electrical characteristics and tonal behaviour that differ noticeably from conventional single coil designs, making NEXUS a true Workshop Finds Experimental model.
Workshop Notes
Fibre Flatwork • Molded plastic cover (black, spacing 50mm) • Black #6-32 mounting screws + rubber tubing included • Built entirely from new, unused components for optimal performance and consistency • Experimental Dual Wire Series Coil (DWSC) prototype featuring simultaneously wound 43 AWG and 44 AWG wire connected in series, followed by an additional 2,250 turns of 44 AWG to create a unique electromagnetic field geometry.
