The GHOST 7.4 is a carefully engineered performance-oriented single coil built around an innovative hybrid winding architecture and a dual ceramic magnet system. Measuring 7.4 kΩ and 5.12 H, it produces a confident vintage-hot output with exceptional authority while maintaining excellent note definition.
Its winding combines 42 AWG and 43 AWG solderable polyurethane wire in three winding stages totaling exactly 8200 turns. This multi-stage construction balances power, efficiency and harmonic complexity, resulting in a smooth yet highly articulate response with excellent transient speed.
The resonant frequency around 2.9–3.1 kHz places the pickup in a sweet spot where warmth and definition work together beautifully. The measured 119 pF internal capacitance indicates an efficient coil geometry that preserves clarity while supporting a rich harmonic spectrum.
A defining feature is the pair of ceramic bar magnets positioned along both sides of the slug row. This design creates an exceptionally uniform magnetic field, with measured densities of 36–38 mT across all six slugs. The even magnetic distribution promotes consistent string balance, accurate tracking and remarkably stable dynamics from low E to high E.
Light potting preserves the pickup's lively character while keeping the resonance controlled.
