This humbucker demonstrates an exceptionally well-balanced electrical and magnetic design, producing a highly musical vintage voice with impressive articulation and dynamic responsiveness. Both coils are closely matched in DC resistance (5.6 kΩ / 5.5 kΩ) and inductance (2.12 H / 2.09 H), resulting in outstanding phase consistency and efficient series operation.
Individually, each coil exhibits a high resonant frequency around 4.7–5.0 kHz with strong Q factors, delivering crisp attack, excellent note separation and abundant upper harmonic detail. When connected in series, the pickup settles at approximately 3.5 kHz resonance with 3.52 H inductance, creating a fuller midrange while preserving remarkable clarity and openness. The measured internal capacitance and resonance behavior indicate a healthy, well-functioning winding with excellent bandwidth and controlled damping.
The magnetic system contributes to the pickup's expressive character. The screw coil provides a focused and articulate response, while the slug coil offers slightly stronger magnetic coupling that enhances sustain and harmonic richness. Together they produce a balanced magnetic field with excellent string-to-string definition and consistent output.
