This humbucker exhibits a remarkably balanced electrical design, with both coils operating efficiently while contributing distinct tonal characteristics. The south coil (4.86 kΩ / 1.64 H) emphasizes openness, quick transient response and extended high-frequency detail, giving the pickup its lively and expressive character. The north coil (5.40 kΩ / 2.56 H) adds body, harmonic richness and a slightly stronger midrange foundation, complementing the brighter south coil exceptionally well.
In series, the coils combine into a 10.27 kΩ pickup with a measured resonance around 3.67 kHz (no load), remaining well controlled under both 250 kΩ and 500 kΩ loading. The measured Q values indicate a resonant peak that is focused yet musical, producing excellent articulation without sacrificing warmth. Internal capacitance remains within a realistic range, supporting stable high-frequency behavior.
The ceramic bar magnet provides a consistent magnetic field, while the measured screw and slug strengths show healthy magnetic balance across both coils. Full wax potting further contributes to predictable performance and excellent mechanical stability.
Overall, this is an exceptionally responsive vintage-output humbucker that delivers articulate cleans, harmonically rich edge-of-breakup tones and outstanding note definition.
